Our Story
The Hudsons Coffee story began with a deep passion for coffee shared by two friends. In the late 1990s, after spending time traveling around the world, sampling the finest espressos from street stalls and bistros throughout North America and Europe, they discovered Australians were missing out on delicious, high quality convenient coffee. When they returned to Australia they opened their first store on Elizabeth St, Melbourne.
In 2009 Hudsons Coffee was acquired by Emirates Leisure Retail (ELR), the global hospitality business part of the high profile Emirates Group. Emirates Leisure Retail plans to take Hudsons Coffee into a new phase of domestic growth with a focus on franchising. Today there are over 65 Hudsons Coffee stores in convenient locations across Australia and our network continues to grow!

At Hudsons Coffee we’ve been making all of your favourite coffees for over 13 years now. Naturally we’ve picked up a few things about making them just the way you like it, every time.
For us, our love for coffee and our customers is the heart and soul of everything we do. We take pride in our unique premium coffee blend that’s nurtured, loved, prepared and served to perfection.
We think the perfect coffee doesn’t just stop with the delicious taste and lingering aromas – it’s also about the overall experience – from our efficient and friendly service, to the warm and inviting ambience of our stores. We like to share our passion for the bean and blend it with the strength, stability, consistency, efficiency and unpretentiousness of a franchise.
Our Blend
At Hudsons Coffee, our premium blend is a medium/dark roast made from 100% high grade Arabica sourced from Africa, South and Central America, that can only be described as delicious, with subtle flavour hints of cocoa and vanilla. Our beans are roasted in Melbourne and delivered fresh to our stores, 2 to 3 times a week.

Our Baristas
Our Baristas are passionate and strive for perfection and excellence in every cup. They love coffee, just as much as you do. They strive each day to create flawless macchiatos, perfect espresso crema, and creamy, velvety milk. By attending workshops held by our dedicated coffee trainer, our baristas keep their skills and ideas fresh.
Our Baristas have an opportunity to further their skills and creativity in coffee making by entering our annual Hudsons Coffee National Barista Competition, as well as external coffee competitions, nurturing our internal coffee culture and inspiring up and coming Baristas.
Our Franchisees
Our franchisees are from different walks of life, but share a common love of coffee, people and a personal drive for success. They were drawn to becoming a Hudsons Coffee franchisee because they loved the idea of running their own cafe and they wanted the security that comes from a highly recognised and established brand. Our network comprises of ex police force, geologists and librarians, to name a few – all who are community minded with a strong entrepreneurial spirit and family values.
